Regular Season Round 8: AL-Adhamiya - Nift Al-Shamal 66-74

Nift Al-Shamal's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Baghdad, where they defeated AL-Adhamiya (0-5) 74-66. Nift Al-Shamal held AL-Adhamiya to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Worth to mention a great performance of Lebanese guard Ali Mansour (185-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Jasim Dheyaa Mahdi (191-92) who added 12 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Four Nift Al-Shamal players scored in double figures. Hayder Khudhair responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Mustafa Al-Agele scored 15 points and 4 assists. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Nift Al-Shamal (1-4) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Al-Tadamoun and Ghaz Al-Shamal. It was AL-Adhamiya's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Nift Al-Shamal will play against higher ranked Al-Khtot (#5) in Baghdad in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AL-Adhamiya will play at home against Al-Tadamoun (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
