Regular Season Round 23: Handlova - Nova Ves 89-75

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Nova Ves (12-6) against seventh ranked Handlova (5-12) on Saturday night. Visiting Nova Ves were defeated by Handlova in Handlova 89-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Nova Ves. Handlova players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Aleksandar Zecevic (207-96, college: FAU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. International guard Dalibor Hlivak (190-95) helped adding 16 points and 12 assists. Five Handlova players scored in double figures. American guard Delano Spencer (190-94, college: Tennessee St.) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and Serbian forward Marko Stevanovic (203-94) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Handlova moved-up to sixth place. Nova Ves at the other side still keep top position with six games lost. They share it with Levice. Handlova will play against higher ranked Iskra Svit (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nova Ves will play against the league's leader Levice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
