Regular Season Round 13: Boras - Koping Stars 96-83

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Koping Stars (5-8) were defeated on the road by third ranked Boras Basket (9-4) 96-83. It looked good early as Koping Stars took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Boras Basket had a 23-14 second period charge getting the lead and Koping Stars were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-96. Boras Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Canadian point guard Marek Klassen (186-92, college: PLNU) nailed 18 points and 8 assists for the winning side and international Nils William (206-92) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard CJ Jackson (185-96, college: Ohio St.) came up with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Craig Victor-II (206-95, college: LSU) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Koping Stars in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Boras Basket. Defending champion maintains third place with 9-4 record having just two point less than leader Sodertalje. Koping Stars at the other side keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Boras Basket will have a break next round. Koping Stars will play at home against Umea (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
