Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Doha: Al Gharafa (#2) and Al Ahli (#7). Al Ahli was crushed at home by 43 points 62-105 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al Gharafa outrebounded Al Ahli 52-25 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Tyler Harris (208-93, college: Auburn) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Franklin Session II (187-89, college: CS Los Angeles) contributed with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Gharafa players scored in double figures. Guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-91, college: Chaminade) answered with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Jonathan Lee (188-90, college: Northeastern) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Al Ahli. Al Gharafa (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Al Ahli lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Al Khor. Al Gharafa will play against Al Wakrah (#4) at home in the next round. Al Ahli will play against Al Khor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
