Important game to mention about took place in Thessaloniki. Eighth ranked PAOK (4-5) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Ionikos Nikaias (3-6) 86-84 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ionikos Nikaias. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 42-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. PAOK made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Ionikos Nikaias was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Malcolm Griffin (193-91, college: Fresno Pacific) who scored 14 points and 7 assists. Loser Ionikos Nikaias keeps the ninth position with six games lost. PAOK will face higher ranked Peristeri GS (#4) in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ionikos Nikaias will play at home against Aris (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
