There was no surprise when 10th ranked Brescia (5-7) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Sassari (7-5) 100-87 on Sunday. Sassari made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Sassari looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Brescia was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International guard Marco Spissu (184-95) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). The former international power forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Jefferson) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian-Haitian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Five Sassari and four Brescia players scored in double figures. Brescia's coach Maurizio Buscaglia tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sassari moved-up to third place, which they share with Virtus BO. Loser Brescia dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost.
