No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Piacenza (3-4) beat bottom-ranked Bergamo (0-5) in Casalpusterlengo 88-78 on Sunday. They outrebounded Bergamo 46-32 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Markis McDuffie (203-97, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Federico Massone (191-98) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Naturalized Albanian power forward Rei Pullazi (203-93) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Ruben Zugno (187-96, agency: SLN) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Bergamo. Four Piacenza and five Bergamo players scored in double figures. Piacenza moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Mantova. Bergamo lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Piacenza will face Biella (#13) at home in the next round. Bergamo will play against Verona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
