Regular Season Round 18: IDK Eustotren - Ensino 87-89

A very interesting game took place in San Sebastian. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked IDK Eustotren (8-10) to ninth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (8-10) 89-87 in the game for the eighth place. Maquinaria Ensino made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The former international forward Vega Gimeno (185-91, college: RMU) notched 28 points and 7 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and American forward Merritt Hempe (190-94, college: Georgia) supported her with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Even 21 points by French point guard Joyce Cousseins-Smith (168-88, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) did not help to save the game for IDK Eustotren. Guard Laura Garcia (177-81) added 14 points. Five IDK Eustotren players scored in double figures. Maquinaria Ensino moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Cadi La Seu and IDK Eustotren. Maquinaria Ensino's next round opponent will be higher ranked Gernika (#5) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
