Everything could happen in Stargard at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Spojnia and 8th ranked GTK had identical 8-9 record. This time Spojnia used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Gliwice 84-78 on Monday night. It was a great evening for American guard Raymond Cowels III (191-91, college: Santa Clara) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import Nick Faust (198-93, college: LBSU) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Shannon Bogues (190-97, college: SF Austin) responded with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) scored 7 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spojnia (9-9) moved-up to seventh place. Loser GTK dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Spojnia will meet Wilki Morskie (#8) in the next round. GTK will play against the league's leader Zastal Enea BC having rather not much hope for a victory.
