Regular Season Round 6: Bnot Hertzeliya - M.Haifa 80-82

The most exciting game of round 6 in the D1 took place in Hertzeliya. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Bnot Hertzeliya (3-3) to seventh ranked M.Haifa (3-3) 82-80 in the game for the third place. Strangely Bnot Hertzeliya outrebounded M.Haifa 40-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American guard Courtney Boylan (170-89, college: Michigan) who led her team to a victory with 31 points. The other American import forward Teana Muldrow (188-95, college: WVU) contributed with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four M.Haifa players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks and American guard Marina Mabrey (180-96, college: Notre Dame, agency: Wasserman) added 24 points and 7 assists in the effort for Bnot Hertzeliya. M.Haifa moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Bnot Hertzeliya. M.Haifa is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Raanana (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bnot Hertzeliya will play against Holon (#5) in Holon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
