No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Campobasso (4-8) beat on the road 12th ranked Lucca (1-7) 83-68. Strangely Lucca outrebounded Campobasso 40-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Campobasso players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. International power forward Samantha Ostarello (188-91, college: Purdue) stepped up and scored 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners and international guard Maddalena Gorini (180-92) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Four Campobasso players scored in double figures. At the losing side Slovakian center Ivana Jakubcova (198-94, college: USC) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Francesca Russo (176-96) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Newly promoted Campobasso maintains ninth place with 4-8 record. Lucca lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. Campobasso will play against higher ranked Schio (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lucca will play against San Martino (#8) to get more than just one victory in their record.
