No shocking result in a game in Sinj where fifth ranked Split (9-4) smashed 10th ranked Alkar (4-10) 92-69 on Wednesday. Split dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Alkar's 30 and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Alkar 37-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international Pavle Marcinkovic (197-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Serbian Marko Lukovic (207-92, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Split players scored in double figures. Split's coach Ivica Skelin felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Vlatko Granic (204-94, college: Loyola, IL) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Srdjan Brocic (183-99, agency: BeoBasket) scored 10 points and 6 assists. Split maintains fifth place with 9-4 record. Alkar lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Split will meet at home higher ranked Borik Puntamika (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alkar will play against Cibona (#3) in Zagreb and hope to secure a win.
