Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (7-2) against fifth ranked Maccabi T-A (6-1) on Thursday night. Visiting Hapoel Jerusalem was crushed by Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv 101-80. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Maccabi T-A outrebounded Hapoel Jerusalem 47-19 including a 32-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for American-Turkish guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 5 assists. Croatian center Ante Zizic (209-97, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. Maccabi T-A's coach Giannis Sfairopoulos felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Tamir Blatt (184-97) responded with 21 points and 7 assists and Nigerian power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice) scored 15 points. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Hapoel Jerusalem at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with H.Galil Gilboa. Maccabi T-A will play against bottom-ranked Maccabi Haifa (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against M.Rishon (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
