The game between closely ranked teams ended with 12th ranked Rybnik's (1-12) road loss to eleventh ranked AZS PCz (5-8) 96-99 on Saturday. AZS PCz forced 21 Rybnik turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Rybnik was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Nikodem Kowalski (200-95) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Jakub Czyz (205-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international Marcin Sroka (201-81) produced 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and center Tomasz Czajkowski (203-82) added 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Four AZS PCz and five Rybnik players scored in double figures. Rybnik's coach Lukasz Szymik rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AZS PCz moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Gliwice 2. Rybnik lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. AZS PCz will face higher ranked Tarn.Gory (#4) in Tarnowskie Gory in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rybnik will play at home against the league's leader AZS AGH KR (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
