Regular Season Round 13: Bolzano AV - Brescia 66-82

Leader Brescia recorded the eleventh victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 11th ranked Bolzano AV (3-9) 82-66. They outrebounded Bolzano AV 39-28 including 25 on the defensive glass. Guard Carlotta Zanardi (178-5) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and French Angelina Turmel (198-96, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Brescia players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Giulia Piermattei (175-93) responded with 13 points and power forward Giorgia Assentato (176-99) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Brescia maintains first place in A2 with 11-2 record. Bolzano AV at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Brescia will meet at home San Giovanni (#5) in the next round. Bolzano AV will play against San Salvatore (#4) and hope to secure a win.
