Regular Season Round 14: UR Krakow - Bielsko-Biala 69-81

There was no surprise when 7th ranked UR Krakow (5-7) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Bielsko-Biala (8-5) 81-69 on Saturday. Bielsko-Biala dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to UR Krakow's 32. The best player for the winners was point guard Wojciech Zub (181-95) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Grzegorz Szybowicz (187-86) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Power forward Tomasz Palmowski (201-97) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds and Jaroslaw Gizynski (196-99) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bielsko-Biala have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Legia 2. Loser UR Krakow dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Bielsko-Biala will face league's second-placed Polonia Bytom at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. UR Krakow will play against AZS AWF Mick. (#3) in Katowice and hope to win that game.
