Very important is a home loss of second ranked Tarnovia (9-3) against seventh ranked Katy Wroc. (7-5) on Saturday night. Host Tarnovia was defeated by Katy Wroc. in a tough game in Tarnowo Podgorne 83-89. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Tarnovia. They outrebounded Tarnovia 48-36 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Grzegorz Kaczmarek (193-83) who scored 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Michal Lipinski (185-86) chipped in 6 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Wojciech Pawelczyk (196-93) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and forward Seweryn Sroczynski (195-95) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Katy Wroc. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zyrardow. Loser Tarnovia dropped to the third position with three games lost. Katy Wroc. will face Stal Ostrow 2 (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Tarnovia will play against Gimbasket (#13) in Wroclaw and hope to win that game.
