Regular Season Round 10: Charilaos - Promitheas 82-88

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Charilaos (3-7) lost to seventh ranked Promitheas (4-2) in Mesolongi 82-88. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Charilaos won fourth quarter 29-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Promitheas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Charilaos' 40. The former international forward Dimitris Agravanis (208-94, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Ioannis Athinaiou (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Chad Brown (207-96, college: UCF) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import Toddrick Gotcher (192-93, college: Texas Tech, agency: Alti Sport) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Promitheas and four Charilaos players scored in double figures. Charilaos' coach Dinos Kalabakos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Promitheas moved-up to sixth place. Charilaos lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Kolossos HH. Promitheas will play against higher ranked Iraklis (#5) in Thessaloniki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Charilaos will play on the road against PAOK (#7) in Thessaloniki and hopes to get back on the winning track.
