Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Carbajosa (6-6) outplayed at home 11th ranked Alcobendas (3-8) 86-62 on Sunday. They outrebounded Alcobendas 36-22 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Carbajosa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for point guard Arturo Cruz (184-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 assists. Swingman Guillermo Mulero (191-97, agency: Duran International) contributed with 21 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Carbajosa players scored in double figures. American guard Jahvaughn Powell (183-96, college: Nicholls St.) replied with 18 points and forward Jorge Parra (192-98) added 11 points in the effort for Alcobendas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Carbajosa moved-up to seventh place in Silver. Alcobendas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Carbajosa will face Algeciras (#11) on the road in the next round. Alcobendas will play against Marbella and hope to win that game.
