Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Verona (2-5) edged on the road bottom-ranked Bergamo (0-6) 85-82 on Sunday. Verona made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The former international power forward Francesco Candussi (211-94) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Giovanni Tomassini (188-88) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists during the contest.
