Regular Season Round 10: H.Afula - E.Yavne 94-86

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked H.Afula (5-4) beat at home 12th ranked Elitzur Yavne (2-6) 94-86 on Tuesday. H.Afula made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Elitzur Yavne turnovers. Strangely Elitzur Yavne outrebounded H.Afula 41-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Lenzelle Smith Jr (193-91, college: Ohio St.) notched 45 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and guard Moriel Lotati (182-99) supported him with 17 points and 7 steals. H.Afula's coach Roy Hagai used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a triple-double of 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists (made all of his seven free throws) by Niv Berkowitz (192-86, college: Marquette) did not help to save the game for Elitzur Yavne. Swingman Elad Hofman (194-85) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Four Elitzur Yavne players scored in double figures. H.Afula moved-up to sixth place, which they share with H.Ramat Gan and E.Kiryat Ata. Elitzur Yavne lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with Ramat Hash.. H.Afula will meet bottom-ranked M.Kiryat Motzkin (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Elitzur Yavne will play against H.Ramat Gan and hope to secure a win.
