Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Anwil (7-11) lost to sixth ranked Trefl (12-7) in Sopot 83-96 on Wednesday. Trefl looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International swingman Karol Gruszecki (193-89, college: UT Arlington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 4 assists. American Nuni Omot (206-94, college: Baylor) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) added 15 points in the effort for Anwil. Five Trefl and four Anwil players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trefl have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 12-7 record. Anwil lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Trefl will face higher ranked BM Slam Stal (#5) in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Anwil will play at home against Wilki Morskie (#7) and hope to win that game.
