Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Pyrinto (0-13) lost to eighth ranked ViVe (4-9) in Vimpeli 51-67 on Wednesday. The game without a history. ViVe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Pyrinto turnovers. American forward Kayla Gordon (183-95, college: Jacksonville) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The other American import guard Doniyah Cliney (182-96, college: S.Carolina) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Liisa Taponen (193-2) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and the former international point guard Anni Jamsa (169-95) added 8 points and 8 assists in the effort for Pyrinto. Pyrinto's coach Juri Heinamaki rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. ViVe moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Pyrinto still closes the standings with 13 games lost. ViVe will face Torpan Pojat (#8) in Helsinki in the next round. Pyrinto will play at home against the league's second-placed Peli-Karhut and will have a slim chance for a victory.
