Regular Season Round 13: Almeda - Viladecans 49-60

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Viladecans (9-5) won against on the road 12th ranked Almeda (3-11) 60-49 on Wednesday. Viladecans forced 19 Almeda turnovers. Quite impressive performance for power forward Silvia Marcelo (188-93) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Elena Silva (173-93) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Power forward Claudia Baraut (182-94) answered with 11 points and Alba Barneda added 8 points in the effort for Almeda. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Viladecans went down to fifth position (Group C) due to points difference, which they share with Joventut. Almeda at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Viladecans will face Girona (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Almeda will play against the league's leader Barca CBS in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
