Regular Season Round 5: Rieti - Cassino 88-83

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Cassino (1-4) was defeated on the road by leader Rieti (5-0) 88-83 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Rieti outrebounded Cassino 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Albanian swingman Klaudio Ndoja (200-85) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Federico Loschi (197-90) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Federico Lestini (203-83) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Simone Rischia (185-90) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Rieti maintains first place in B with 5-0 record, which they share with Vigevano. Loser Cassino keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Rieti will face Roma Luiss (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cassino will play against Pozzuoli and hope to win that game.
