Very predictable result when third ranked Schio (12-2) outscored at home 12th ranked Lucca (1-10) 107-53. Schio dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Lucca's 30 and made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Schio forced 20 Lucca turnovers and outrebounded them 42-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Lucca's players. It was an exceptional evening for French center Sandrine Gruda (193-87) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Canadian-German Natalie Achonwa (190-92, college: Notre Dame, agency: Wasserman) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Schio players scored in double figures. Schio's coach Pierre Vincent felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Linnae Harper (175-95, college: Ohio St.) came up with 18 points and point guard Alessandra Orsili (168-1) added 9 points respectively for Lucca in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Schio. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Lucca lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Schio's next round opponent will be Empoli (#5) on the road. Lucca will play against Costa Masnaga (#8) and hope to win that game.
