There was a minor upset when 4th placed Bologna Basket (3-2) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Agrigento (3-2) 93-82 on Thursday. Agrigento made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (197-85) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Alessandro Grande (181-94) chipped in 21 points and 9 assists. Luca Fontecchio (203-91, agency: Players Group) produced 19 points and center Eugenio Beretta (208-96) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Agrigento and four Bologna Basket players scored in double figures. Agrigento moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Bologna Basket. Agrigento will face Torrenova (#10) in Torrenovese in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bologna Basket will play on the road against Palermo (#14) and hope to win that game.
