Regular Season Round 11: Karkkila - Kipina 86-74

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Karkkila (3-5) beat at home higher ranked Kipina (5-5) 86-74 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Karkkila. Kipina was better in third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Eemeli Laaksonen (186-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Matias Nyman (178-99) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Sami Mantymaa (193-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: UMass Lowell) added 30 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Kipina. Karkkila moved-up to thirteenth place in 1st Division. Newly promoted Kipina keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Karkkila will face league's second-placed FoKoPo in Forssa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
