Regular Season Round 13: Tarragona - Jairis 73-67

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Jairis (3-8) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Tarragona (5-6) 73-67 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Center Ferran Torres (201-88) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Daniel Fernandez (181-94) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Kevin Navarro (183-92, agency: Promo Sport ID) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Nigerian-American forward Princeton Onwas (198-93, college: SJSU) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tarragona moved-up to seventh place in Silver. Jairis at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Tarragona will face Villarrobledo (#10) at home in the next round. Jairis will play against La Roda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
