Regular Season Round 15: Bielsko-Biala - Polonia Bytom 69-95

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Polonia Bytom (13-1) crushed on the road 5th ranked Bielsko-Biala (8-6) 95-69 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bielsko-Biala 42-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Polonia Bytom looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Wojciech Leszczynski (190-92) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Polonia Bytom's coach Mariusz Bacik felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Point guard Wojciech Zub (181-95) answered with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Grzegorz Szybowicz (187-86) added 16 points and 7 assists in the effort for Bielsko-Biala. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Polonia Bytom. They maintain second place in Group C with 13-1 record having just five point less than leader Rydzyna. Loser Bielsko-Biala keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Polonia Bytom will face AZS AWF Mick. (#3) in Katowice in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bielsko-Biala will play on the road against AZS PS Gliwice and hope to win that game.
