Regular Season Round 11: CBSFDO - Torta del Casar 75-56

There was a small surprise in San Fernando where tenth ranked CBSFDO (2-5) outscored 8th ranked Torta del Casar (2-5) 75-56 on Saturday. CBSFDO forced 22 Torta del Casar turnovers. Torta del Casar was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Jaime Macias (190-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Iago Paz (201-91) helped adding 17 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Four CBSFDO players scored in double figures. CBSFDO's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Swingman Eduardo Recio (188-1) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Alejandro Martinez (-2) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. CBSFDO moved-up to seventh place in Group D-B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Torta del Casar. CBSFDO will face higher ranked Penarroya (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
