Another interesting game for Gazelles (3-4) which hosted in Montpellier against higher ranked Lyon (5-3). Eighth ranked Gazelles had an easy win 86-70. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Lyon. Gazelles forced 19 Lyon turnovers. American forward Myisha Hines-Allen (188-96, college: Louisville) had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Belgian point guard Julie Allemand (173-96, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Gazelles players scored in double figures. Gazelles' coach Thibaut Petit allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Canadian power forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (188-91, college: Simon Fraser) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and international guard Marine Johannes (174-95) scored 28 points (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Gazelles maintains eighth position with 3-4 record. Defending champion Lyon dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Gazelles will play against Tarbes (#11) on the road in the next round. Lyon will play against Villeneuve D'Ascq (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
