Regular Season Round 15: Arka 2 - AZS UMK 93-74

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked AZS UMK (5-7) was outscored by second ranked Arka 2 (10-2) in Gdynia 93-74 on Saturday. Arka 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to AZS UMK's 24. Arka 2 forced 20 AZS UMK turnovers. It was a good game for guard Olaf Perzanowski (195-2) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Michal Pluta (192-2) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Arka 2 players scored in double figures. Guard Michal Samsonowicz (187-98, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 36 points (!!!) and guard Jakub Kondraciuk (191-99) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for AZS UMK. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Arka 2 have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group A with 10-2 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Rydzyna, which they share with Notec Inowr. Loser AZS UMK keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Arka 2 will have a break next round. AZS UMK will play at home against Notec Inowr. (#3) and hope to win that game.
