Regular Season Round 13: COR Victoria - Gorizont 64-87

Premier League top team - Gorizont (13-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked COR Victoria (4-9) in Brest 87-64. The game was mostly controlled by Gorizont. COR Victoria was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gorizont forced 21 COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gorizont shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by COR Victoria's players. The former international forward Yuliya Rytsikava (181-86) fired 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Yanina Inkina (188-97, college: UALR) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. Daria Panasyuk (176-96) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and forward Anastasia Golovchiner (184-2) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. COR Victoria's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gorizont have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. COR Victoria at the other side dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Gorizont's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Tsmoki-Minsk.
