Regular Season Round 14: Sant Adria - Maresme 59-74

The most interesting game of round 14 in the LF2 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Sant Adria (9-5) by fourth ranked Maresme (10-4) who outscored them by 15 points 74-59. It ended the two-game winning streak of Sant Adria. Maresme made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Sant Adria turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Sant Adria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Mireia Vila (183-91, college: St.Joseph's) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and center Olga Ruano (191-88) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Mariona Teixido responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Sarah Saba (179-96, college: Daemen) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maresme moved-up to third place in Group C. Sant Adria at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Maresme's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Barcelona Lima-Horta.
