Regular Season Round 12: Westside ET - Kipina 87-90

A very close game took place in Espoo between Kipina and Westside ET. Sixth ranked Kipina (6-5) got a very close victory on the road over 4th ranked Westside ET (7-6). Kipina managed to escape with a 3-point win 90-87 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 23-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kipina made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game, while Westside ET only scored eight points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: UMass Lowell) who scored 28 points and 9 rebounds. Lauri Jantti (202-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Five Kipina players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Eldar Skamo (198-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Sami Marouf (188-88) added 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Newly promoted Kipina maintains sixth position in 1st Division with 6-5 record. Loser Westside ET keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Kipina will meet at home Raholan P. (#8) in the next round. Westside ET will play against the league's leader FoKoPo (#1) in Forssa and hope to secure a win.
