Very predictable result when first ranked Vicenza (5-1) rolled over at home 8th ranked Mestre (3-3) 99-79 on Sunday. Vicenza dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Mestre's 36. They outrebounded Mestre 41-25 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vicenza looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for power forward Andrea Petracca (197-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Stefano Cernivani (185-91) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Power forward Niccolo Rinaldi (198-93) replied with 22 points and power forward Marco Lazzaro (197-92) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Mestre. Five Vicenza and four Mestre players scored in double figures. Vicenza maintains first position in B with 5-1 record, which they share with Piacenza. Loser Mestre keeps the eighth place with three games lost. Vicenza will face Monfalcone (#16) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Mestre will play against V. Padova (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
