Regular Season Round 12: MuKi - Korikouvot 90-77

An interesting game took place in Helsinki where higher ranked Korikouvot (4-6) was upset on the court of tenth ranked MuKi (3-5) 90-77. Korikouvot was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. MuKi dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Korikouvot's 24. MuKi forced 21 Korikouvot turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Joonas Timonen (189-0) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 9 assists. Power forward Emil Uotila (198-0) contributed with 29 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. MuKi's coach Jussi Tahvanainen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Joel Mantynen (199-2) replied with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Teemu Kristeri (195-2) added 20 points in the effort for Korikouvot. Four Korikouvot players scored in double figures. MuKi moved-up to eighth place in 1st Division. Korikouvot at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. MuKi's next round opponent will be higher ranked Pyrinto Ak.A (#6) in Tampere and it may be quite challenging game.
