Regular Season Round 6: Agrigento - Torrenova 96-83

Very expected game when 10th ranked Torrenova (2-4) lost on the road to sixth ranked Agrigento (4-2) 96-83 on Sunday. Agrigento dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Torrenova's 36. They outrebounded Torrenova 37-24 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Agrigento especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (197-85) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Alessandro Grande (181-94) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Power forward Mirko Gloria (203-95, agency: Players Group) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Vincenzo Di Viccaro (192-84) added 17 points in the effort for Torrenova. Five Agrigento and four Torrenova players scored in double figures. Agrigento moved-up to third place in B, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Torrenova dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Agrigento will face Tessilform Bernareggio (#4) on the road in the next round. Torrenova will play against Ragusa (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
