The game in Joensuu was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Nokia (6-5) played at the court of eighth ranked Kataja (7-6). Kataja defeated Nokia 98-86 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Kataja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Nokia's 42 and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Kataja looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Rashard Odomes (198-96, college: Oklahoma) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-French forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Odomes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Kataja players scored in double figures. American forward Jeff Garrett (201-94, college: LSUS) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Wes Washpun (185-93, college: N.Iowa) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Nokia's coach Greg Gibson tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kataja moved-up to fifth place, which they share with KTP Basket. Nokia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Kataja will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nokia will play against Lahti (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
