Regular Season Round 18: Kalev/TLU - Rapla 83-85

Twelfth-ranked Kalev/TLU (2-15) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Rapla (9-8) in Tallinn on Wednesday. The visitors from Rapla managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a good game for Slovakian point guard Mario Ihring (192-98, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Latvian Roberts Freimanis (203-91, college: Liepaja) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American Brandis Raley-Ross (190-87, college: S.Carolina) replied with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Karl-Johan Lips (200-96) added 29 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) in the effort for Kalev/TLU. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Rapla went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Kalev/TLU keeps the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Rapla will face Tarvas (#8) in Rakvere in the next round. Kalev/TLU will play again at home against Rapla (#6) and hope to win that game.
