Regular Season Round 16: Arka Gdynia - Torun 94-57

EBLK top team - Arka Gdynia (14-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Katarzynki (2-13) 94-57. They outrebounded Katarzynki 36-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Arka Gdynia shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Katarzynki's players. The winners were led by Lithuanian power forward Laura Miskiniene-Svaryte (190-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Marissa Kastanek (175-90, college: NC State) supported her with 15 points and 7 assists. Five Arka Gdynia players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by Austrian forward Sarah Sagerer (190-96, college: Stetson) did not help to save the game for Katarzynki. Forward Aleksandra Pszczolarska (180-1) added 12 points for lost side. Arka Gdynia have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. Katarzynki at the other side keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Arka Gdynia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Katarzynki will play at home against Gorzow Wlkp. (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
