Grindavik defeated Thor AK at home 119-105. Thor AK trailed 56-54 at halftime, rallying from a 32-17 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. They outrebounded Thor AK 41-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. Grindavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Dagur Jonsson (185-95, college: SFC) who scored 29 points and 8 assists. American forward Eric Wise (198-90, college: USC) chipped in 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Dedrick Basile (178-94, college: CSUB) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and Spanish forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (203-95, college: NM State) added 28 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Five Grindavik and four Thor AK players scored in double figures. Thor AK will play next round against strong Stjarnan trying to get back on the winning streak.
