Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Pardinyes-L. (6-8) beat on the road 11th ranked Cornella (3-8) 82-74 on Saturday. Pardinyes-L. forced 20 Cornella turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Javier Mendiburu (197-80) who scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Montenegrin center Filip Knezevic (205-94) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. American-Guyanese forward Kevin Mickle (201-93, college: Ohio) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and center Victor Serrano (211-89) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Pardinyes-L. moved-up to sixth place in Silver. Newly promoted Cornella dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Pardinyes-L. will face Gran Canaria 2 (#7) in Las Palmas in the next round. Cornella will play on the road against Albacete (#4) and hope to win that game.
