There was no surprise when 12th ranked Rosalia (3-12) was defeated at home by eighth ranked GDKO Bizkaia (7-8) 51-42 on Saturday. GDKO Bizkaia forced 19 Rosalia turnovers. The best player for the winners was Finnish center Helmi Tulonen (189-98, college: Duquesne) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Finnish guard Elina Koskimies (183-95, college: American) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Nuria Choren (-99) who recorded 20 points and Sara Corredoira (-0) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. GDKO Bizkaia maintains eighth place with 7-8 record, which they share with Paterna. Rosalia lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face Genero (#14) in Las Palmas in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rosalia will play on the road against Arxil Pontevedra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
