Regular Season Round 7: Monfalcone - Vicenza 71-66

There was an upset when much higher ranked Vicenza (5-2) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked Monfalcone (2-5) 71-66 on Saturday. It was a great evening for center Devil Medizza (200-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Marco Bacchin (187-97) helped adding 11 points. Four Monfalcone players scored in double figures. Monfalcone's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side guard Stefano Cernivani (185-91) responded with 15 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and naturalized Dominican guard Shaquille Hidalgo (188-94) scored 14 points. Monfalcone moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 11 other teams. Loser Vicenza still keeps top position with two games lost. Monfalcone will face Mestre (#10) at home in the next round. Vicenza will play against U. Padova (#16) and hope to win that game.
