The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Gornik (15-3) on the court of fourteenth ranked Wisla Krakow on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Wisla Krakow 80-77. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Gornik. Wisla Krakow looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Gornik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for power forward Jakub Zaczek (204-96) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Rafal Zglobicki (197-94) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Maciej Bojanowski (200-96) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and center Damian Cechniak (210-93) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Gornik. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Wisla Krakow (6-12) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Kolobrzeg. Gornik at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Czarni. Wisla Krakow is looking forward to face higher ranked AZS PO (#10) in Opole in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gornik will play at home against WKK Wroclaw (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
