An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ferrol. Leader Ferrol faced 3rd placed Plasencia. Host Ferrol (16-0) smashed guests from (11-5) 92-43. Ferrol dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Plasencia's 32. Ferrol forced 27 Plasencia turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Ferrol's coach Lino Lopez felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Princess Aghayere (183, college: Pennsylvania) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Stacia Robertson (188-92, college: High Point) added 7 points respectively for Plasencia in the defeat. The victory was the sixteenth consecutive win for Ferrol. They maintain first place with 16-0 record, which they share with Barca CBS. Newly promoted Plasencia keeps the third position with five games lost. Ferrol's next round opponent will be Adareva (#7) in Laguna which should be theoretically another easy game. Plasencia will play at home against Coruna (#9) and hope to win that game.
