Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Alessandria (0-7) was crushed at home by fourteenth ranked Cesena (2-5) 81-51 on Saturday. Cesena dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Alessandria's 24. Cesena forced 20 Alessandria turnovers and outrebounded them 40-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for power forward Giacomo DellAgnello (198-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Leonardo Marini (205-95) helped adding 13 points. Cesena's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Brazilian swingman Angelo Guaccio (193-98) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and center Fabio Dal Maso (200-99) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Cesena moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 11 other teams. Loser Alessandria still closes the standings with seven games lost. Cesena will face higher ranked Rimini (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alessandria will play against Oleggio (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
