Rather expected game when 6th ranked Pesaro (7-8) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Sassari (10-5) 99-74 on Sunday. Sassari shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Jason Burnell (201-97, college: JSU) who added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Estonian Henri Drell (205-0) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Justin Robinson (173-95, college: Monmouth) scored 5 points and 14 assists. Five Sassari and four Pesaro players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sassari have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-5 record having just two points less than leader Milano, which they share with Virtus BO. Loser Pesaro dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Treviso. Sassari will meet Trieste (#6) on the road in the next round. Pesaro will play against Cantu and hope to secure a win.
